About Our Courses
Course Modules
The academy coursework is divided into modules of approximately 30 minutes learning time each. They are fairly dense and are meant to be repeated several times to enhance retention and build solid skill sets. They are arranged in a logical progression from basic to complex, but the student is free to enroll in any order they prefer. Each module is $20 the first time it is taken, $10 the second, and $5 each time after. The coursework for the Sound Modules is nearly complete, with the remaining modules to be authored and offered as more mentors become involved with the academy. Professionals interested in serving as academy mentors should contact the director.
Mentoring and Internships
Mentorships are more flexible than the course modules and can take many forms. The mentor could be available to shadow the student at a performance they are working, or vice versa. Mentor sessions are also flexibly priced, and can be supported through scholarship contributions using the PayPal link at the bottom of each page of this website. Mentors are available to all students whether they are enrolled in coursework or not.
Each set of coursework culminates in a load in to load out, supervised internship at a professional performance staffed by one of our partner organizations. These day-long critiques can be both exhausting and rewarding for the student as they have the opportunity to use their newly acquired skill set in a professional setting. The cost of the internship day is underwritten through a combination of PayPal donations and the partner organization providing the opportunity.
